Pros and cons of Montessorium: Intro to Math app for iPhone and iPad

Montessorium: Intro to Math app good for

The App. is a very good way for young children to learn numbers. As parent from a multilingual family (French, German) I find it particularly good that it supports multiple languages, although this is linked to the iPad language settings. It would be better to be able to choose the language from within the app. itself.
Our 2 1/2 year old daughter is really starting to enjoy this app. Its simple, easy to learn and visually fantastic. We knew very little about the Montessori way of teaching but this app has really piqued our interest. Already looking forward to the next installment. Keep up the great work!
My three years old daughter loves it. Even though they seem to be easy for her, but she still enjoys to play with it.
I have no particular brief for or against the M. philosophy of education. Its a little tricky to spell, and it really seems an upper-middle-class phenomenon, both of which irritate me a little. However, I know thats got nothing to do with education. I *do* like this app, because it seems to move in deliberate, thoughtful stages without over-focussing on specific details. Its enough for me that we think carefully about how we teach -- this app certainly does that. And it has no Disney characters, which is a great relief.
Use this with your two-year or three-year or even four-year old to prepare them for a life of understanding, comprehension, and capability. This is one of the best apps for early learning, for your kids. Play with learning early together with your children. Early learning TOGETHER with you will give them confidence and peace of mind.

Some bad moments

What a waste of money! No sound means no instructions and no idea what the tasks are! Very disappointing!
Only in English availaible, which is a real bummer! Please add a german translation asap. Bugs: - Volumecontrol doesnt work... - Itemes snap sometimes to wired places... Other than that: Nice Idea and App!
My 3 year old has trouble tracing the letters and I cant even do it when she asks for help it gets stuck. Too much explanation for youngsters.
This may amuse some children and possibly frustrate others, either way it has very little to do with Montessori. In fact it ignores and even contravenes more of Montessoris basic principles than it promotes! Parents would be wise to explore Montessoris views on education before shelling out five bucks.
Looks appealing but lacks many features other apps possess. No ability to customize, does not re-set or give instructions once a task completed, no praise or reward for task completion ( if thats important to you), lacks verbal instruction, tiny "back" button makes it difficult for toddler to use without help. Way way way overpriced for whats offered. Try grasshopper apps for montessori apps-More affordable and far better design.
Application is nice looking but is not well suited for Kids: 1. responsivnes is very poor - you have to very accurate to move objects 2. application do not follow the paradigm of "change your state when I click" which is ver irritating for Kids. Kids have to wait until lector finishes his talk before they can do something else 3. objects (especially numbers) are very small and not well distinguished - e.g. 10 and 1 are very often treated as 1 4. it is hard to drag numbers summarizing: idea is well suited for kids while interface is well suited for grownups
